Professional Development Opportunity: Learn about Philanthropy and Funding for Community Organisations

15 Nov

STOP PRESS!!! Do any DOSAites out there want to learn more about how to obtain funding for community groups (like DOSA); or about philanthropy in the Darebin area? DOSA project worker Meredith will be attending PluGIN, which is an information evening about these things. If anyone connected with DOSA would like to come along with her then let her know by 5pm WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16. PluGIN will be held on 24th November, 5.30-7pm, in Northcote. It is a free event and supper will be provided. This is a great professional development opportunity, as well as an opportunity to link up with the Darebin community.

PluGIN is organised by the Inner North Community Foundation and here is what they have to say about the event:

“PLuGIN to philanthropy and community on 24 November with the Inner North Community Foundation!

The Inner North Community Foundation’s first ever PLuGIN (Philanthropy Leadership Group in the Inner North) event is coming up in two weeks on Thursday 24 November from 5.30pm – 7.00pm. We are pleased to announce Mary Crooks, Northcote resident, and Executive Director of the Victorian Women’s Trust will be our inaugural speaker, talking about philanthropy and community.

PLuGIN will be held at our spiffy new offices on High Street Northcote – over the road from the Northcote Town Hall.

PLuGIN is an opportunity to think about philanthropy in a local context, meet people who are interested and involved in philanthropy and community, and open up discussion.  It is also an opportunity to learn more about the Inner North Community Foundation.

We hope you will be able to join us. To enable us to cater adequately please rsvp.”

If you want to go then let DOSA Project Worker Meredith know by 5pm 16th November 2011. You can contact Meredith on dosa@divrs.org.au or 9480 8205 or via facebook.
